Idiot Christians compete with Idiot Muslims: it’s a tie!
The great clash of civilizations continues its moronic advance in the ideological battlefield of children’s toys. About a year ago, a British woman ran afoul of foolish “Islamic” sensitivities in Sudan when she let her class of children name a stuffed bear “Muhammad,” which scandalized local narrow-minded zealots to the point of imprisoning her, calling for her death, and eventually deporting her for “insulting Islam.” The outcry in the teacher’s home country and the rest of “the West” was predictably, and rightfully, indignant. We shook our heads at how stupid these people in Sudan must be to take such an innocent situation and try to depict it as evil… as an insult to their sensibilities and an assault on their society, culture and faith.
And now, groups of drooling mouth-breathers in the U.S. – well publicized by Fox News – are pulling a page from the Sudanese hardliners’ playbook, accusing a babbling plastic doll of mumbling “Islam is the Light” and Satanic phrases. I can picture sensible people the world over shaking their heads at how stupid these Americans must be to take such an innocent situation and try to depict it as evil… as an insult to their sensibilities and an assault on their society, culture and faith.

your an idiot
Thanks Brandon. I think it’s great that you not only feel free to be honest with me about your intellectual qualms regarding my opinion, but also are not afraid to be clever about it by making a grammatical error in a three-word sentence. Well said! I certainly will have to watch myself if I’m going to have to withstand withering scrutiny like yours! Touche, my friend.
I think the doll actually spouts: “Indians with delight”, and that actually the entire phrase was: “Killing indians with delight”, but the first word got lost during programming. It is actually a hate doll against native americans, and an attempt to indoctrinate children on behalf of Custer’s legacy…
That, or the whole thing is just very, very sad, with the media, even here in Mexico, calling they toy a “satanic doll”. If people are so easily driven to consider other religions as “satanic”, in our days, then we are not far enough from the crusades, we should keep running away from that part of our history… and somehow we just orbit around hate, not really wanting to leave it behind.
The whole things make me happy of being an atheist.
In the same way that sane Muslims responded to the Muhammad cartoons fiasco, I’d like to apologize on behalf of the non-idiot portions of Christianity for the behaviors of some of our more…vocal…fellow believers.
It’s my fault really. I left their cage unlocked again. I’ll be more careful next time.
